Jarrod Day

Jarrod has certainly been around the local fishing scene spanning two decades. As a young boy, fishing from the Portsea and Sorrento piers along the Mornington Peninsula coastline stretching far and wide across the oceans, Jarrod has fishing right throughout Australia and some spectacular international destinations such as Malaysia, Singapore, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island and the list continues.

Jarrod works full time in the Head Office for Compleat Angler as Product Design, Development and Marketing manager. He has been fortunate enough to have been a special guest on Channel TEN’s IFISH with Tackle World and Channel 31′s fishing television program’s Fishin’ Trip, That’s Fishing and Youfish TV. A past co-host of the 97.7fm 3SER radio program “The Fishing Show”, He was also a weekly fishing reporter on 3AW but took a backstep from radio to fulfil his passion for print media.

Jarrod has contributed countless magazine articles for Victorian Fishing Monthly, South East and West Fishing, Bream, Barra and Bass, Country to Coast Journal, Go-Fishing, Saltwater Fishing Australia, Fishing Tips and Techniques, TrailerBoat Fisherman, Fishing World, Photofish and NAFA.

He has co-written “The Western Port and Phillip Island Land Based Fishing Guide” and re-written the updated version and “The Western Port, Phillip Island and surrounding ocean beaches Land Based Fishing Guide along with editing “The South Coast New South Wales Land Based Fishing Guide” and more recently Fishing guide to Port Phillip Bay and The Victorian Guide to Snapper due out in 2016, that’s a mouthful.

In this talk, Jarrod will discuss the ins and outs of surf fishing tactics and tips across Victoria, including;

•    How to read the surf
•    Tackle and rig setups
•    Target species and more

With surf fishing being a great alternative for those without boats or sea legs, then come along and learn a thing or two!
